Can I still work in New York and Massachusetts after surrendering my license in New Hampshire?

Hey, so I’m in a bit of a situation. I have my nursing license in both New York and Massachusetts, but I was recently asked to surrender my license in New Hampshire. It’s all related to this operation Nightingale where they said I gave fraudulent transcripts even though I was transferring from another school. My lawyer said the best move was to just surrender it. But now I’m wondering if I can still work in NY and MA since I still have my licenses there. Anyone been through something similar?

Yeah, I’ve heard of something similar happening before. If the other states haven’t taken action, you should be fine to continue working there. The main thing is if NY and MA are okay with your credentials, you’re good to go for now.

@Briar
That’s what I thought too, but wasn’t sure. So, the states don’t automatically take away your licenses if one state does?

Exactly! Each state has its own board and they can make their own decisions. So unless NY or MA start questioning things, you’re safe. But I’d keep an eye on it just in case.

I think your lawyer has a good plan with the Bachelor’s degree. If you ever want to reinstate your NH license, you could try using that. But yeah, for now, just focus on keeping things good in NY and MA.

@Reagan
Yeah, that’s the plan. Just wasn’t sure if NH would hold this against me even if I’ve been fine in the other states. Thanks for the reassurance!

As long as NY and MA aren’t saying anything, you’re probably in the clear. Just make sure to stay on top of your paperwork and updates with them.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’d recommend checking in with NY and MA boards just to keep everything current. They might even be able to give you more clarity on the situation with NH.

I’ll definitely do that. Just want to make sure I’m covering all bases. Appreciate the tip!

It’s good that both NY and MA have accepted your Bachelor’s degree. That’s a solid foundation for the future, especially if you go for reinstatement in NH.

Yeah, I’m hoping that helps if I decide to reapply later. Thanks for the feedback!
