Hey, I moved from Arizona to another state because of my parents’ health issues, and now I’m back in AZ. I’ve got a valid WI driver’s license, and I need to transfer it back to AZ. Can I do that online or do I have to go in person? Any help is appreciated!
Hey there! You can’t do it online. From what I know, you’ll need to visit an AZ DMV office in person to transfer your license. They’ll want to see your WI license and some other documents.
I think you’ll need to bring proof of residency too if you’re getting a Travel ID or REAL ID. If not, the regular ID stuff should be enough. Hope that helps!
Isn’t the REAL ID optional? I heard you only need it if you want to fly or go into federal buildings or something. Can I just get a regular AZ license instead?
I had to do this a couple of years ago and it wasn’t too bad. Just make sure you check the AZ DMV website for a full list of what to bring. They’re usually pretty clear about it.
I think you just need to go in with your WI license, proof of residency, and your SSN. It’s a bit of a trip, but it should be pretty straightforward once you get there.
