Can I travel to other states with my interlock license?

I just got my interlock license and installed my interlock device. My question is, can I travel to other states with this license? I’m looking at Texas and Colorado. Anyone know if that’s allowed?

Congrats on getting your license! I’ve heard you can travel, but you need to make sure you’re still in compliance with the original state’s rules.

Thanks! Yeah, I just don’t want to run into any issues when I get to Texas or Colorado.

You should be fine to travel, but you’ll need to notify the agency monitoring your IID results. Also, don’t forget about scheduled calibrations.

Got it! Didn’t realize I needed to notify them. I’ll make sure to keep everything up to date.

Yeah, just be sure to check with the states’ DMV about their interlock rules. Texas and Colorado both have good info on their websites about this.

Oh, that’s good to know. I’ll check those links out before I head there. Thanks!

I think you’ll also need to submit monthly data reports to the state where you got your conviction. Don’t miss that!

Oh, so that’s a thing too. Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll keep track of that.

Also, if you’re traveling for a long time, double check to see if you can get calibrations done while you’re in another state. Some places offer that service.

I didn’t even think about that. I’ll make sure to ask if I can do it while in Colorado or Texas.
