Can the bank repossess my car from the garage?

I signed the paperwork for Chapter 13 and have a lawyer. All he needs to do is file them. Since this letter, I’ve been waiting for his counsel as well, but perhaps someone else has experienced this.

My vehicle is owned by a credit union. As fortune would have it, they are not on the title and never finalized the lien on my car. I owe them money, yet they are unable to claim the car.

If your credit union isn’t listed on the title, they might struggle to claim the car, even if you owe them. It sounds like a bit of a lucky break for you. Just hang tight and keep checking in with your lawyer—they’ll get everything sorted out soon.

Hi, Yes, a bank can repossess your car from the garage if you’re behind on payments, as the vehicle’s location does not affect repossession rights.
