Hey everyone, I’m trying to finish my income tax return but can’t find my SSA-1099 statement for 2023. I need the info from Box 3 and Box 5. Anyone know how I can get it online?

Just go to ssa.gov and look for the ‘my Social Security’ section. You’ll need your SSN and some personal info to sign up.
If you can’t set up the account, you can call Social Security for a replacement. Just a heads up, it might take a while to get it.

Yeah, it’s 1---****. They can send you a new SSA-1099.
I lost mine last year too. It’s super annoying trying to get everything sorted out.

Right? I felt so lost without it… lol.
I had to wait a couple of weeks for mine when I requested it by mail. Definitely try the online route first.

Box 3 shows your benefits paid, and Box 5 shows the net benefits. They’re used to figure out if any of your Social Security is taxable.
