CCJ included in bankruptcy... why won’t the court remove it?

Hey everyone, I’ve got a CCJ that was included in my bankruptcy, and the claimant is cool with having it removed. They even sent a letter saying they’re fine with it being taken off my credit file and court records. But the court’s refusing to remove it or mark it as settled. Is that normal? Anyone else dealt with this?

Yeah, this sounds familiar. CCJs can stay on your record for 6 years even if they’re not enforceable anymore. Annoying, right?

Wait, so even if it’s covered by the bankruptcy, it still stays for 6 years? That sucks.

Yeah, it’s not marked as ‘settled’ or ‘satisfied.’ It just means they can’t enforce it anymore because of the bankruptcy.

Did the court explain why they won’t remove it? Sometimes they just go by the rules and don’t budge.

Nope, they didn’t really explain much. Just said it would stay on for 6 years. It feels unfair.

Sadly, the rules are pretty strict. Even with a claimant’s letter, the court usually won’t remove it.

Honestly, it’s frustrating, but you might just have to wait out the 6 years. Happens to a lot of people.

Guess I don’t have much choice. Just feels like it shouldn’t work this way.

Agreed. It’s one of those things that makes no sense but is how it is.

Have you checked your credit report? It might still show the CCJ even if it’s unenforceable.

Yeah, it’s still there. Hoping it doesn’t cause issues when I need credit in the future.

It could affect you if someone checks your record, but at least they can’t take action on it anymore.
