I just realized I never got a renewal for my car registration. My registration expired on 10/23, but I never got any notice from the DMV. I moved two years ago, and I’m wondering if that’s why I didn’t get anything. I’ve got a new address on my driver’s license, so IDK what happened. Anyone know how to handle this? I’m planning on contacting the DMV on Monday, but any tips would be helpful!
Ugh, that sucks. The DMV can be really slow sometimes. Definitely check if they have your correct address. I had a similar issue and it turned out I hadn’t updated my address properly.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up paying a fine because I didn’t realize my registration was expired until a cop pulled me over.

Isn’t there a grace period for stuff like this? I think I heard you can still renew after the expiration date without penalties, but I’m not sure. Anyone know?

Yeah, there might be a grace period depending on where you live. Best to call DMV to ask about it. Some places even let you get a temporary permit while you sort it out.

I think contacting the DMV is your best bet. I had something similar happen a while ago, and they let me renew online even though I missed the notice.
