So I have a kind of weird question. My license expired a while ago (back in 1952, lol), and now I need to renew it. Do I have to prove that someone drove me to the DMV? Like, is that a thing? Because if they ask, I’ve totally lost that info. I really need to renew it today since I’m planning to go out of town tomorrow… any advice?
Lol, no, you don’t have to prove how you got to the DMV. They’re not gonna ask or care tbh. Just don’t drive yourself there since your license is expired. You could get a ticket if you’re caught driving with it like that.
@Auden
Wait, so if I’m driving to renew it, I could still get in trouble even though I’m on my way to fix it?

Yep, exactly. The law doesn’t care that you’re going to renew it. Just make sure you get a ride or use public transport to avoid any trouble.
I had a similar situation once. The DMV never asked how I got there, so don’t stress about it. Just make sure you get there safely and get that license renewed!

Thanks for the reassurance! I’ll definitely find a ride there.
Yeah, I was in the same boat and didn’t have to show proof of getting there. I just used a taxi to avoid driving myself, and everything went fine.
Lol I’ve been there before. DMV didn’t care about my ride at all. They just wanted me to renew my license, simple as that.
If you’re under 70, there might be different rules about renewing an expired license. But honestly, I wouldn’t worry about proving how you got to the DMV. Just get it renewed and you’ll be good.
