Got a text about an outstanding toll... what now?

I got a text saying I have an outstanding toll bill, but I don’t have an invoice number or Quick Pass account. My license plate is RZM 9508, and I’m in Zip 27518. I don’t think I ever got a mailed bill either. How can I pay this online?

You can still pay without an invoice number. Just go to the NC Quick Pass site and use your plate number.

Oh, good to know. Do I just type the plate number into the search bar?

@Holland
Yeah, exactly. Go to the Pay Now page and enter your plate. It’ll pull up your invoice info.

@Holland
Make sure to double-check the Zip code too—it matches with your plate info.

I had a similar issue. Their customer service is pretty helpful if the website doesn’t work.

Just call the number on their website. They’re quick to sort things out.

FYI, they also have a chat option if you don’t want to call.

If you’re stuck, it might be worth checking if the text is legit. Sometimes there are scams like this.

Oh shoot, how do I know if it’s real?

Legit texts usually don’t ask for personal info directly. Always cross-check on the official Quick Pass site.

Yeah, and scams often have weird links. Stick to ncquickpass.com to be safe.

Btw, if you haven’t signed up for Quick Pass, that might help in the future. It keeps track of all your tolls.

Thanks! Does it cost anything to sign up?

There’s usually no fee unless you want a transponder. Worth looking into!

Yeah, and you’ll get automatic billing. Super convenient.
