So, I called DHR yesterday for an update on my case. The officer said it’s still being processed, which makes sense since I submitted it last November. I want to send them more info, like the FOIA documents showing my employer committed wage theft, and some new workers’ comp charges for fraud and discrimination. But I’m not sure if sending this will slow down my case. Anyone know if it could mess things up?
I’m in a similar situation! I’d send the info—seems like it’s important for your case.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. I just don’t want to create any delays.

I doubt it would delay things. The DHR handles discrimination, the WCB handles workers’ comp—they’re separate.
Maybe give DHR a call and ask them? It’s always good to be sure.

That’s a good idea! I’ll definitely ask to confirm before I send anything.
Wait, what’s FOIA? I’ve seen it mentioned but don’t know what it is.

Oh, FOIA stands for Freedom of Information Act. It’s a law that lets you get access to certain government records. I used it to get documents proving wage theft by my employer.
@Kieran
Ohh okay, thanks! That’s helpful to know.
When I updated DHR with new info, it actually moved things along faster. Maybe it’ll help!

Good to know! I was worried it might slow things down.
I don’t think it’ll mess up your case. Keep them updated, they need all the info to help you better.

Yeah, I’ll send it over and follow up with them to see what happens.
