I just got a toll charge for Oklahoma Turnpike, but the plate isn’t mine. The invoice period is from 10/16/24 to 11/14/24. How do I dispute this? Any advice?
Hey, that sucks! I’ve dealt with toll disputes before. First, double-check the plate number on the invoice to make sure it doesn’t match anything you own. If it doesn’t, you’ll want to gather any proof like a bill of sale or your vehicle registration.
@Alby
Yeah, I’m going to double-check it. I didn’t even think of getting a bill of sale, but I do have my registration. I’ll try that!
Once you’ve got your proof, just call the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. The number should be on your invoice. If they can’t sort it out over the phone, they’ll probably ask you to submit a formal dispute. Don’t forget to keep all the receipts, emails, or notes from your calls.
@Rex
Got it, thanks! I’ll give them a call and keep everything documented just in case.
Just FYI, sometimes these things happen because of misread plates or errors in their system. If you think that’s the case, definitely mention it when you’re talking to them. It could help get it sorted faster.
@Sloane
I didn’t even think of that! I’ll ask if there was a mistake with the plate number. Hopefully, that helps.
If they deny your dispute after you’ve sent all the proof, you can file a complaint with the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Unit. They might be able to help you out without having to go through more legal steps.
@Cedar
Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep that in mind if things don’t get resolved.
When you call, make sure you’re calm and clear about the situation. The more info you have, the better chance you have of getting it removed. Good luck!

Will do! I’ll make sure to stay calm and just explain everything clearly. Thanks!
