Hey everyone… I’m in a bit of a bind here. I have this property with a lien from American Express due to a summary judgment. I got the property from a judgment, but the lien was already there. American Express won’t talk to me because the loan wasn’t in my name. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with this?
Wow, that sounds rough! Have you tried contacting them in writing to request the lien removal?

Yeah, that might help! But it can be tricky getting a response from them…
@Marley
IDK, I can’t even find an agent to send the letter to.
Do you have any proof that the loan wasn’t yours when the property was transferred? That might help your case.

I do have a judgment from civil court saying I got the property, but it feels like no one wants to help…
You might need a real estate lawyer to help sort this out. They deal with liens a lot.

Good idea! I heard they can really navigate these situations better than most.
Have you checked if there’s a company that serves American Express? They might help with the lien.

I haven’t looked into that yet. Any suggestions on where to start?
I think you need to satisfy the judgment to get it off your property. Might wanna double-check that!

Yeah, I’ve heard that too. But it feels impossible right now!
