How do i make sure my car reg isn’t forwarded?

I’m getting my new car registration mailed soon, but the address it’s being sent to in Florida is vacant until 12/31. I want to make sure it stays there and doesn’t get forwarded up north. Any tips?

If the place is empty, you could use USPS’s hold mail service. It can keep everything at the post office for up to 30 days.

Oh, that’s a good idea. Do I set it up online or do I need to go in person?

@Skyler
You can set it up online on the USPS website. Super easy to do!

Yeah, just make an account on their site. They even let you pick the exact dates to hold your mail.

Do you know if there’s any forwarding active for that address? That could mess things up if it’s sent somewhere else.

Not sure, honestly. How would I check for that?

Just call USPS customer service or check on their site. They can tell you if there’s an active forwarding order.

Yeah, if there is one, you can cancel or modify it. Definitely worth a quick check.

Informed Delivery might be useful. It lets you preview incoming mail online and see if your registration is delivered.

Oh, I’ve heard of that. Is it free to use?

Yep, totally free. Just sign up on USPS’s site and they’ll show you scanned images of your mail.

You could also have a neighbor or someone nearby keep an eye out for the mail if possible.

Unfortunately, there’s no one around right now. Guess I’ll stick with the USPS options.

@Skyler
Makes sense. USPS should cover it. Just double-check the timing so nothing slips through.
