How to file perjury charges in small claims case?

I lost a small claims case because I didn’t file a counterclaim… now I found out the other person lied and even provided fake paperwork. Does anyone know if I can file perjury charges in a case like this?

Yeah, perjury is a crime. Did you file a police report yet?

Not yet! I wasn’t sure if that’s the right way. Can I report the company too?

Usually, it’s about the individual, not the company. But you can check with local police to be sure.

If you’re thinking of going further, you might need to file an appeal. Were you planning on that?

Yeah, I am filing an appeal. Planning to ask for all the documents as evidence.

Makes sense. You might also want to request interrogatories, it could help get more info.

Did you get any evidence that shows they were lying? Courts can be strict on needing proof.

I have some evidence that shows it was fraud. They’re all connected somehow, but I don’t have everything to prove it deeply.

If you believe there’s a scam, maybe a subpoena could get you more records.

You can subpoena documents if needed, but sometimes that’s a whole other process. Got a lawyer helping with this?

Not yet, but I’ll probably need one to really dig into the fraud stuff.

Might be a good move. Lawyers can make it easier to get all the official paperwork.

You can request licenses or IDs if these people worked for you. Are they contractors?

Yes, but I’m not sure if I can request their licenses through court. Can I?

Yeah, that’s usually possible through a court subpoena if it’s relevant to your case.
