Is it possible to modify a parenting plan without involving the court system?

We want to make a new plan where both parents spend equal time with the child, sign it, stop child support, and move on. How can we do this easily without needing lawyers? We’re in Florida.

ALBNYL is also unsure which state you are in; you must first make a request/petition to amend your prior order. Then file an agreed-upon order. Usually, you can locate some self-help forms, but speak with a competent lawyer, and many would gladly advise you in the correct route.

If the modifications are acceptable to you both, all that is left to do is have a consent order prepared, get it signed by both of you, and present it to the judge for approval.
