Is this contempt of court? What can I do...?

I’m in a tough spot and could use some advice. I have court-ordered custody arrangements in Arizona that state I get my son every Thursday to Monday morning. This is the second time my ex has not followed the order. I haven’t heard from her at all, and I’m worried she might have taken him somewhere else during my parenting time. I miss my son so much! Can I involve the police in this situation? I was supposed to get him on Friday at 8 am, and it’s been over 24 hours without any communication from her. Any thoughts on what my options are?

That sounds really frustrating. It definitely seems like a violation of your custody order. I would suggest contacting your lawyer ASAP!

You might want to call the police, especially if you think she’s taken him out of state. They can help you find out where he is.

Yeah, definitely involve the police if you haven’t heard anything. They can help ensure your son’s safe.

Document everything! Keep records of your communication attempts and any missed visits. This can help if you need to go back to court.

I would definitely reach out to your attorney about this. They may suggest filing a motion for contempt against her.

I know how hard this is. Just stay strong and keep pushing for your rights as a parent. You deserve to see your son.
