Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with harassment at work after making an ADA accommodation request. My lawyer suggested I send a formal letter to my employer addressing the issues. I’ve drafted the letter but would love to know if it sounds alright. Here’s a summary of what it says: I explain the harassment I’ve been facing, outline the specific incidents with dates, and request an investigation. Any advice?
Your letter sounds solid! Make sure you’re clear about the specific accommodations you requested so they can’t say they didn’t know what you needed.

That’s a good point! I’ve listed the dates, but I’ll make the actual accommodations more specific. Thanks!
Maybe include a phrase like ‘This letter serves as a formal complaint under the ADA’ to make it sound more official.

Good idea! I’ll add that in to make it clear this is serious.
Also, it might help to give them a deadline to respond, like asking for a reply within 10 business days.

Yeah, I didn’t think about adding a deadline. I’ll do that. Thanks!
Sounds like you’ve covered everything! Just make sure you keep copies of the letter and any responses for your records.

Will do. I’m keeping detailed records of everything. Hopefully, this gets resolved soon.
I think your letter’s tone is spot on—firm but not aggressive. Should help you get the response you need.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was going for. Hopefully, they take it seriously.
