Looking for a traffic attorney in Juneau County, Wisconsin... anyone know of one?

So I’m dealing with some really strange traffic tickets after a car accident on July 23rd at 2:48 am. A big trailer truck hit my SUV’s rear right corner while I was on the I-90 highway in Juneau County, Wisconsin. The crazy part is that I got three tickets, and the police report doesn’t even reflect what I said to the officer at the scene. Has anyone gone through something like this? What should I do next?

That sounds rough. I had a similar issue once, and it was a mess. Did you try contacting the officer to correct the report?

Yeah, I did, but the officer said he couldn’t change it since it’s already with the court… not sure what to do now.

Wow, that’s crazy. I’d definitely get a local lawyer involved, especially since it’s going to trial. A lawyer could help challenge the officer’s report in court.

Yeah, I’m thinking of getting a lawyer too. Any recommendations for one around Mauston, WI?

You can try the bar association for referrals or even look into local legal aid. They might have some good options!

If the case is going to trial, I’d recommend finding a lawyer who knows the local court system. The DA can’t really help with ticket removal, so you’ll need someone to represent you in court.

I’m kind of stuck because I live in South Alabama. They let me do a conference call for the hearing, but I can’t attend in person.

I get it, that’s tough. Maybe you can work out something with a local lawyer to handle things from afar. Most lawyers should be able to work with that setup!

Just wanted to say I feel for you. If the report is inaccurate, you definitely need a good lawyer to help you out. Good luck!

Thanks! I’m trying to figure things out, but it’s been a bit of a headache. Hopefully, I can get some good help soon.

Have you thought about checking out law school clinics? Some of them offer free legal help for situations like this.

That’s a great idea! I hadn’t thought about law schools. I’ll definitely look into it.
