Hey everyone, I’ve got a question about school bullying. My daughter and her friends were officers in a club, but they got kicked out by the president and co-president. Now, they’ve lost access to everything, and it seems really unfair. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of situation? What can we do?
That’s rough. I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s experience. Did the school give you any explanation for why they were removed? Might be worth talking to the administration about their bullying policy.
@Jensen
No explanation yet. We’re trying to figure out if the school will do anything about it. The girls are pretty upset.
@Jensen
You might want to check out your state’s bullying laws. I know some places have specific guidelines schools have to follow when something like this happens.
That sounds like bullying to me. If they were excluded like that, the school should have a process for handling it. Have you talked to the principal or someone higher up?

We’re thinking about going to the superintendent, but it feels like they’re dragging their feet. Not sure what to expect from them.

It could help to get everything in writing. Emails, meetings—document it all. That way, if the school doesn’t handle it, you’ve got proof of what happened.
Wait, so the presidents were endorsed by a nonprofit organization? That’s wild. Can’t the school step in if it’s affecting students like this?

Yeah, it’s a mess. The nonprofit is playing dumb, acting like they didn’t know what’s going on. We’re wondering if we can take legal action against them too.

You might be able to. I’d talk to a lawyer who specializes in education law. Sounds like a complicated situation.
This whole thing sounds awful. I’d definitely recommend finding a lawyer, especially if the school and nonprofit aren’t taking responsibility.

Thanks for the suggestion. We’re looking into it now. Hopefully, we can find someone to help us out soon.

Good luck! It’s tough when kids are involved. Hoping everything works out for your daughter and her friends.
That’s so unfair. The school should definitely step in. Maybe try contacting a lawyer directly? There are some good ones in California that could help with this.

Yeah, we’ve been given some names. Just hoping this gets resolved quickly.
