Need guidance on dissolution of Marriage in Missouri regarding adult children one 22 and the other 25

I am filling out the forms on my own.Who should have custody of the children and what age they are are asked on the dissolution form. This shouldn’t apply because they are 25 and 22 years old. However, the question of “who should have legal and physical custody” appears on lines 35g and 35h. Not applicable is not a choice. There are only options available to the sole, mutual, or other parties. It states that each and every question needs to be addressed. Thus, even if I think this doesn’t apply, how do I respond to this? I am selecting “both spouses” as the most suitable option.

In Missouri, adult children (over 21) are generally not a factor in divorce proceedings, as child support obligations typically end when a child reaches 21 or graduates from college. However, issues like inheritance or trusts involving adult children might be relevant. Consulting a family law attorney is recommended for specific guidance.

@Greenlee Since they are now adults, they are no longer regarded as the marriage’s children. Not a single one is listed.

@Lopez The form expressly requests that all children, regardless of age, be listed.
