Out of state and temporary renewal expired... now what?

So, I’m out of state and my temporary renewal expired on August 18, 2024. No citations yet, but my mail is still being sent to my old address in Montana (32 Confederate, Townsend). Anyone know what I should do to fix this?

I think you should contact the DMV in Oregon since that’s where your temporary renewal came from. They’ll probably have some steps to take care of this.

Same here, lol. I had an expired temp permit once and had to go online to renew it. Maybe try that too?

@Leander
I didn’t even think about online renewals. I’ll check that out, thanks!

Did you get any notices about it expiring? Some states send a reminder or even penalties if you don’t renew in time.

No notices yet, but I haven’t been checking the mail. I’m still out of state.

You could also try calling the DMV in Oregon. If you’re out of state, they might be able to help you fix it remotely.

You might be able to renew online. Most states have a DMV website now for stuff like this. Have you checked that?

Not yet, but sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the heads-up!

If you’re not getting mail, you might want to update your address with the DMV too. That way, you won’t miss any important stuff.

Yeah, I’ll definitely do that once I get back to town. I should’ve changed it sooner.
