My wife and I just moved to McLean, VA and need to change our IDs. We’re specifically looking to update our driver’s licenses with the new address. Also, my wife lost hers during the move, so she needs a replacement. Can anyone help with how to schedule appointments or what steps we should take?
Hey, I had to change my license when I moved last year. You’ll need to make an appointment online for the DMV in Virginia. If your wife needs a new one, she’ll need to report it lost and get a replacement with the new address.
@Marlow
Do you know if you can do that online? I hate waiting in lines at the DMV… lol

Yep, you can schedule the appointment online for the DMV. It’s actually pretty easy and saves a lot of time. Just check the Virginia DMV website!
I think you can do it either by phone or online. I’d recommend calling though, especially if you need to sort out the replacement for your wife’s lost license. The DMV can give you the exact steps you need to follow.
If you’re in McLean, VA, there’s a DMV office nearby that should be able to help you out. Just make sure to bring proof of address when you go in for the update.
Did you try the online services for DMV appointments? I’ve always had better luck with that instead of waiting in line. You might get an appointment sooner than you expect!

Yeah, we might just try that! Thanks for the tip. Hopefully it’s not too much of a wait.
I had a similar situation when I moved, and getting the replacement for my license online was super easy. Hope it’s the same for you and your wife. Good luck!
