hey everyone, i missed my traffic court dates a few times (driving without a license and speeding). now there’s a warrant out, and i’m planning to turn myself in. does anyone know what the bail bond range could be for this? i’ve heard anywhere from $250 to $2500, but i just want to be prepared. also, fyi, the cases are from 2016, and the court rescheduled twice in 2017 and 2018. any advice?
hmm, i’ve heard it really depends on the judge. some people just get a written promise to appear, but idk if that applies here.

yeah, i missed 3 times before because i changed addresses and requested new dates. not sure if that’ll work against me.

missing court dates might make it tougher, but showing up now should help. the judge might go easy if you explain.
if you’ve got an attorney, they should have a better estimate. mine told me $2500 max for something similar.

my attorney said to turn myself in but didn’t give a bail range. $2500 seems high for traffic violations though.

2500 sounds like worst-case. it could be lower, especially if you’re cooperative.
can you just call a bail bondsman? they usually know what the range is and can prep you.

good idea! didn’t think of that. might call tomorrow to check.
if you’re not driving anymore, why not focus on clearing the warrant first? seems like that’s the real block.

totally. it’s just annoying that i can’t renew my state id until it’s cleared. can’t even get into some work sites.

ugh, that’s rough. once the warrant’s cleared, everything should fall into place though.
what’s a written promise to appear? like you just sign something and don’t pay bail?

yep, basically a promise to show up for court. you don’t pay anything, but it’s up to the judge.

would be great if that happens, but i’m bracing for bail just in case.
