What should I do after getting multiple traffic tickets and court supervision?

So, I got a speeding ticket in Peoria, IL, and was granted court supervision. Then, a month later, I got another speeding ticket in Iowa, which I paid. Now, just last month, I got a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign, and I’m worried about how this will affect my license. If I get three violations, my license could be suspended. Anyone know what steps I should take?

Sounds like a tough situation! First thing you should do is find out if that Iowa ticket got reported back to Illinois. If it’s on your record, that could affect your court supervision.

Yup, definitely check with the Illinois DMV to see if the Iowa ticket is showing up. If it is, that might be a problem. Good luck!

Exactly! Once you know what’s on your record, you can figure out if you’re at risk for suspension. Hopefully not, though!

If your court supervision hasn’t been revoked yet, I think you can still get court supervision for that stop sign ticket. That could help avoid a conviction and suspension.

That’s a good idea! Supervision would definitely help you out here. Just make sure to check with the court to be sure everything’s good with your first ticket.

Yep, calling the courthouse is your best bet. As long as your first supervision is still active, you should be good to go.

Did you get any notice about your supervision status? Sometimes they’ll let you know if you’re at risk for revocation because of new violations. Definitely stay on top of that.

I haven’t gotten anything yet, but I can call the court to check. Hopefully, it’s all good! Thanks for the advice.

So for the stop sign ticket, you can probably still get court supervision if you haven’t already used your two chances for the year. If you get it, that could keep it from going on your record.

Yep, I actually have another shot at it, so I’m going to go for supervision again today. Fingers crossed!

Good luck with it! Court supervision should definitely be the best option. It’s your best chance to avoid a conviction.

If your supervision ends today and everything goes smoothly, you should be in the clear for that first ticket. Just make sure everything’s good with the stop sign case today, and you should be fine.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to check everything out. I appreciate all the help and advice!
