When can I expect my physical DL to arrive?

I applied for my California driver’s license on October 14, 2024, and still only have my temporary DL. It’s been over three weeks. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the physical one? I really need it ASAP.

The DMV usually takes around 2-3 weeks to mail it out, but sometimes delays happen. Did you try checking your status online?

Just go to the California DMV website. They have a tool where you can check your application status. You’ll need your DL number and some personal info.

I waited almost a month for mine recently. Processing times can vary a lot depending on the DMV’s workload.

Yeah, unfortunately. If it doesn’t show up soon, maybe call them? Their phone lines can be a pain though.

FYI, if your temporary license is expiring soon, you can ask the DMV for an extension.

True, USPS has been lagging for a while now. Hope yours shows up soon, though!

If you’re really stuck, you could visit a DMV office in person. They might be able to fast-track it or at least give you more info.
