My bf ran a red light and caused an accident while under the influence. He hasn’t received any court date info about the DUI, just the traffic violation for running the red light. His PO checked the system and only saw the same thing. Anyone know why this might be happening?
I think it might be because the DUI charge hasn’t been processed yet. Did they do a breathalyzer at the scene?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes these things take a while to show up in the system. They might still be processing everything.
It’s possible they haven’t updated the system with the DUI yet. It might take time for everything to be processed, especially if it’s a first offense or the police are still investigating.

That’s happened to a friend of mine too. It took weeks before the DUI charge showed up in the system. I wouldn’t worry too much yet.
Was a breathalyzer done at the scene? If there wasn’t one, it might delay the DUI charge from showing up in the system. It can sometimes take a bit longer without that test.

Ohh, I didn’t think about that. So, if there was no breathalyzer, they might not have filed the DUI charge yet?

Yeah, exactly. If they didn’t do a breath test or didn’t arrest him right away, it could be holding up the process.
It could be a system delay. I had a similar situation when a family member was involved in a similar accident. It took a while for everything to get processed and show up in the court system.

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for court dates to show up in the system. If the DUI charge isn’t listed yet, it’s probably just in the works. Maybe check back in a couple of weeks.
