I filed my motion months ago and served it electronically. So why hasn’t a hearing been set?
The other party is not following an order. I filed the motion but still no hearing scheduled.

Mine took 10 months to be heard and then the judge ignored everything. Maybe file a motion to get a ruling on the original motion.
When you filed your motion electronically, did you get a confirmation? Did you also file a proposed order?

Yes, it was accepted, but I only filed a motion for contempt asking the court to grant me sanctions and whatnot.
@Fern
And the court didn’t respond to confirm your contempt motion? I’d suggest filing a motion to request a hearing with a proposed order, specifically referencing the contempt motion. That’s what I’d do.
I’m not a lawyer, but I agree with the previous comment. You should call the clerk’s office in your county where you filed the motion. They’ll be able to help you check if there’s any issue with scheduling or why it hasn’t happened yet, as long as you have your case number and the date you filed. In some areas, they’re still dealing with delays from the pandemic and backlog from those cases.
Ask your lawyer.

I’m handling this on my own. I don’t have a lawyer.

Well, that’s your choice. It’s clear you’re struggling with this.

Instead of helping, you decide to be rude. If you don’t have anything useful to say, just move along.
@Fern
You’re right, I could’ve been more helpful. But I don’t have the details of your case, like your jurisdiction or the paperwork. Maybe you should reach out to the court clerk. Also, it’s always better to get a lawyer’s advice. If you can’t afford one, maybe look into legal aid or local family services.
@Amory
You should’ve just said ‘you’re right.’ This forum is for asking questions. If you thought my post wasn’t detailed enough, you should’ve said that. I don’t need help from anyone who insults me right from the start.
@Fern
I think you missed my point. I did answer your question seriously, but you were just offended by the way I said it.

Actually, the person who posted this came here for serious advice, and they made it clear that they don’t have a lawyer. So, even if the response wasn’t as polished, it was meant to be helpful. It wasn’t necessary to throw sarcasm into it. This forum is for real questions, and people here are facing serious issues.
