So I’m on a conditional green card, and there’s a petition to annul my marriage based on fraud. I leave for military training on October 1. Will this mess things up for me? Can I still enlist if the annulment isn’t finalized yet? Would the military even help me if the annulment goes through?
If you’re already enlisted before the annulment is finalized, you should be fine. The military won’t usually step in for this kind of issue, though.

Oh, okay. So as long as I’m in training, the annulment won’t stop me?

Exactly. The green card process might stop if the annulment goes through, but if you’re already enlisted, it shouldn’t affect that.
You might want to file an answer to contest the annulment. If you can show the marriage was valid, it could help.

How do I contest it? Is there a specific process?

Yeah, you’d argue that it was a valid marriage. Might be worth consulting an immigration attorney to do it right.
If the annulment happens before you’re enlisted, it could block your green card and enlistment. Timing is key here.

Got it. So as long as I start training before it’s finalized, I should be okay?

Yeah, exactly. Just keep an eye on the annulment timeline so there are no surprises.
I don’t think the military will help if the annulment is finalized. They’re strict about green card requirements.

Makes sense. So basically, I just need to hold off the annulment process for now?

Exactly. You can contest it to buy time, but you’ll need solid proof the marriage wasn’t fraudulent.
When’s your annulment hearing? If it’s after October 1, you’re probably in the clear for now.

I don’t have a date yet. Hopefully, it’s after I start training.

If there’s no date yet, you should be good. Just keep track of it and maybe consult a lawyer.
